How do I buy an eBook? Our eBooks without DRM (Digital Rights Management) can be purchased online from this website, and from Amazon and Mobipocket websites with DRM. Just select the file format you prefer (Kindle, Mobipocket, Acrobat, ePub, Reader), pay by credit / debit card, then follow the download instructions. The whole process usually takes no more than a few seconds if you have broadband. A full-length novel may take 2-5 minutes to download on a dial-up connection with a 56K modem, depending on the speed of your computer.

How do I download my eBook? When your payment by credit / debit card has been approved, (this just takes a few seconds), you will be taken to the download page. If your download does not complete correctly, simply save the webpage in your Favourites and return to it within 24 hours to commence the download again. After 24 hours, the download facility is no longer available for the eBook you have ordered. If for any reason you need to get the eBook again after this period, please email us on: nodamnspamcustomersupport@ebooks-uk.com* and we will email another copy to you as an attached file.

Publishing packages If you are buying a publishing package, please stay online until you have uploaded your work and downloaded the Writer's Pack. If you do not upload your book file at the time of purchasing your publishing package, please email it to us as soon as possible thereafter. eBook formats Our downloadable publications are currently supplied in one or more of the following file formats: Kindle eBook (.azw/.prc), MobiPocket (.prc), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), and ePub (.epub) Open Source format. We may provide other eBook file formats in the future, as the technology becomes available.

Why do I have to pay a contribution towards the cost of publication? In the past we published work free of any charge up front to the author, as we are not vanity publishers. We are an independent, traditional publishing house that only publishes work of good quality. Due to the increased costs of proof reading, copy editing, typesetting, cover design, ISBN registration and other overheads, we regret we now have to charge an initial fee for our publishing services, but you can benefit from our HALF PRICE OFFER before the end of July 2011, if you order one of our publishing packages and submit your work now. Please DO NOT submit your work to us unless you are happy to pay the contribution to the initial cost of publication. You will receive generous royalties if your book sells.

Why can't I print out the eBook? These publications are intended to be read as eBooks. They are NOT intended to be printed out - the printing facility is usually locked in the file to prevent printing.

Will my eBook work on desktop, laptop, notebook & tablet PCs? Our eBook formats can be read on all standard desktop, laptop, notebook and tablet PCs running Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 operating systems. These file formats can also be read on MacOs X operating systems and Android systems. Calibre ebook management is a good way of converting eBooks from one format into another, if you have ordered your eBook by mistake in the wrong format. You may need to download the free software for the particular file format you wish to use, if it is not already on your computer or eBook reading device.

Handheld devices Kindle eBooks can be read on most computers, phones and tablet PCs, inluding the Amazon Kindle, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, iPhone/iPad, Blackberry, Andoid and Windows Phone 7.
MobiPocket eBooks can be read on most PDA OR PALMTOP devices using free Mobipocket Reader software.
Adobe Acrobat files can be read on ANY PC, Mac OS X or PDA, and also on Kindle and Sony Readers - but you may need to download and install the correct version for your device, if it doesn't already have it.
ePub files can be read on any ANY PC, Mac OS X, PDA, smartphone and also on some eBook Readers, such as the Sony Reader - but you may need to download and install the correct version for your device. At present ePub files cannot be read on the Kindle, but they can easily be converted to .prc for reading on the Kindle by using Calibre.
Microsoft Reader is nowadays less popular as an eBook format, and we are not planning to make our new eBook publications available in this format in the future, though some of our back catalogue titles may still be available in this format. Reader files can be read on PDAs and Pocket PCs running Windows CE/Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 5.0, and any updates or new versions of these operating systems.

How long are the eBooks? We publish full-length novels, novellas, collections of short stories, and non-fiction books. An eBook could be any length from 15,000 words up to 200,000 words or more.

Why aren't the eBooks free? They are written by writers who are trying to make a living as professional authors.  As with a work in printed book form, authors are entitled to receive royalties for their creative work. The books may be published at the same time or later in hard copy (eg. paperback book form).  We pride ourselves on the quality of the work we publish - you will see what we mean when you have tried some of our eBooks. 

How do I pay? You pay by credit or debit card, via our secure server.  We use the WorldPay secure server to ensure maximum security. Your payment is processed automatically - you will receive confirmation within a few seconds that  your credit card has been approved.   If your card is rejected it is most probably because you typed in something incorrectly - try again, making sure you give the details exactly as shown on your card. Payment Options: we can accept payment by MasterCard, Visa, Switch, Delta, JCB and Solo. We regret we are unable to accept American Express.

What if I have any problems opening or reading an eBook? For Adobe Acrobat, try Adobe's CustomerFirst Support. Please DO let us know, if after doing this, you are still having problems.

Can I find out what the eBook is about? There is a summary of each eBook on the Download page for that eBook.

Are there any pictures? Yes, some of our eBooks are illustrated - it will say so if this is the case.
